In an attempt to encourage transnational exchange between female executives in Central and Eastern Europe and intensify economic cooperation, on April 1, 2009, the Women Entrepreneurs – We Go East network was founded. This established a platform for businesswomen looking to set up a cooperation between Germany and the states of Central and Eastern Europe. The new setup was consciously based on the existing networks between women`s business associations and institutions in Germany and Central and Eastern Europe.
Over sixty female representatives from institutions, economic associations and private companies from Germany and Central and Eastern Europe have now joined.
The network offers support and encouragement to women holding top executive positions who want to work together to generate pan-national business opportunities. To this end, informative events on the countries of Central and Eastern Europe are held as well as rounds of talks and cooperative forums intended to facilitate business.
Other objectives and activities include supporting women setting up new businesses and providing them with further training.
